Let us say you have a few PV panels Surrey left over in your hand and decide to donate the same to the nearest charitable organization. Can you claim to have done a good deed? Well, you cannot make such a claim if the charitable organization is flummoxed by your contribution. What is it going to do with these panels? Is it expected to sell them? Or is charity merely a dumping ground for all that stuff you do not need?

Many persons find such questions to be very offensive. After all, they pay for stuff that they donate for charity. Well, charities not just about giving stuff that you have paid for. It is about giving stuff that people need. If the charitable organization is in need of these panels, then contributing the same will be very generous gesture.
However, if the organization has no use for such panels and does not have the resources or skills to sell the same for profit, your contribution may end up becoming an expense for the organization.
The best way to tackle this issue is to admit that you are trying to get rid of unwanted material even as you are doing charity. Well, why don’t you take it a step ahead and find out whether the organization is ready to accept what you are donating. If not, then you can offer to convert the same into cash and donate the same. Of course, you can finalize a deal at your own convenience and hand over the amount you deem fit. The extra effort that you have to make can certainly be considered when finalizing their donation.
Now, the responsibility will be on the charitable organization to decide whether it wants a relatively smaller amount in cash or a larger amount in kind.
