Well, businesses are setup to earn profits. Self sustenance is very important for businesses. On the other hand, charitable organizations are designed to obtain resources from the majority and distribute the same to individuals who do not have a good life. This is the reason why charitable organizations find it difficult to last for long time. They are dependent on the contributions of their donors.

Of course, this is an over simplification. If there is no charity, chances of social order will become practically non existent. In such a scenario, it is but natural for the charitable organization to focus a bit on self survival as well. How will you react if your charitable organization spends a few thousand dollars purchasing a good data quality management software application? Would you automatically conclude that the charity should not have utilized money for such expenses? Or would you consider the requirement or necessity of the organization before passing a judgment? After all, an organization that manages contributions from thousands of individuals on a regular basis will require proper data management.

Going in for a software application that measures the quality of management of data is equally important. Or is it? After all, the money that charitable organizations spend on themselves is money that cannot be utilized for charity. Well, being too rigid about these things will not work. Will you stop eating so that you can do charity? Obviously not. In the same way, you cannot complain that the charitable organizations focus on self survival. However, this does not mean that the charity can behave like a business where it generates returns for itself instead of generating returns for the masses in need of assistance.

Well, to demand gratitude as a matter of right is not a good thing. It is a sign of arrogance. We must remember that we are very lucky to be born in a family that could afford basic needs. The primary essence of charity is to develop this feeling of mutual respect even though the other person may not have a lot of money in hand.
