Teaching for a caring future
Getting young people involved with charity work and aid projects is a very important thing in my opinion, and I think that it is our responsibility to try and ingrain an ethic of compassion and helpfulness in all of our youngsters, as they are the ones that will be in control of the future. Many people that get involved in this kind of work early on really enjoy it and often then follow through with things when they are older.
Some things that are a good idea to try and get children involved in the idea of helping others and giving, is to organize aid box days in school. This is where the children collect a box of things from their home that they want to donate, and bring it into school. The school then arranges for a charity to take all of the boxes away and donate them to other children that are in need. When children are a bit older, there are more projects and ideas that they can get involved with, and getting them to take as much responsibility for organizing these as possible is always a good thing.
Another aspect to this type of giving, and charity work, is getting children to realize the importance of looking after the environment and caring for he world, as well as the people. Getting them involved with green projects, and recycling projects is a good way to try and bring them up with a better notion of what is right and wrong, and what things are most important in life. Teaching them about buying fair trade products, and eco products is also a good idea. Companies such as Enigin Scam Busters are the product of a group of people who care about such things, and want to try and promote green companies and expose those that are just trying to make money out of people wishing to buy green products.
